FIELD TRIPS IN THE ROMANIAN CARPATHIANS
Prof. Mihai Emilian Popa

The Carpathian Mountains in Romania offer both exquisite landscapes and excellent conditions for field trips with undergraduate or graduate students in Geology, Geography and Biology. Here are few aspects related to field trips with undergraduate and graduate students of the University of Bucharest in the South Carpathians, a region particularly wealthy for natural history.

1. Our field trip along the Prahova Valley, in June 2004, with undergraduate students in Geology;

2. Our field trip in the Iron Gates Natural Park, in July 2005, with undergraduate students in Geography;

3. Our field trip in the South Carpathians (Banat and Mehedinti), in July 2005, with undergraduate students in Geology.

4. A wonderful field course in Geology in Bigar, Caras-Severin County, in July 2008, the first field course using the Dilcher-Popa field laboratory.

5. The field course in Geology in Bigar, Caras-Severin County, in June 2009, the second field course using the Dilcher-Popa field laboratory.

6. The 2010 summer field course in Bigar, Caras-Severin County, using the Dilcher-Popa field Laboratory.

7. The 2011 summer field course in Bigar, Caras-Severin County, using the Dilcher-Popa field Laboratory.

8. The 2013 summer field course in Bigar, Caras-Severin County, using the Dilcher-Popa field Laboratory.

9. The 2014 summer field course in Bigar, Caras-Severin County, using the Dilcher-Popa field Laboratory.

10. The 2015 summer field course in Bigar, Caras-Severin County, using the Dilcher-Popa field Laboratory.

11. The 2016 summer field crouse in Bigar, Caras-Severin County, using the Dilcher-Popa field Laboratory.

12. The 2017 summer field crouse in Bigar, Caras-Severin County, using the Dilcher-Popa field Laboratory.
